So, what are the physical causes behind this mystery? Our aim is to find out those causes and analyze in such a way that could satisfy the musical standpoints. Important elements from the physical perspective are steady states of notes and silence. Steady states of note recognize prominent presence of a note. পণ্ডিত অনিন্দ্য বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়  সরোদ যন্ত্রের সৃষ্টিতে ভারতে আসা আফগানকে ব্যবসায়ীদের উত্তরসূরীদের বিরাট অবদান আছে। সেই সব ব্যবসায়ীদের সঙ্গে থাকত রবাব নামে একটি বাদ্যযন্ত্র।  এটি একটি লোক বাদ্যযন্ত্র। যা তারা লোক সংগীতের সঙ্গে বাজাতেন। রপ্তানির সুবাদে ভারতের বিভিন্ন রাজ্যে তাদের অনায়াসে যাতায়াত ছিল। দরবারী সঙ্গীত অর্থাৎ ভারতীয় উচ্চাঙ্গ সংগীতের প্রতি তাঁরা ক্রমশ আকৃষ্ট হয়ে পড়েন।  ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীর প্রথম দিকে তাদের অনেকেই পাঞ্জাবে ও উত্তরপ্রদেশের শাজাহানপুর বুলন্দশহর, বেরেলী, মোরাদাবাদ, নাজিবাবাদ ইত্যাদি অঞ্চলে বসবাস শুরু করেন।  ক্রমশ তারা ভারতের বৃহৎ সংগীত পরিবারের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে পড়েন। উল্লেখ্য ভারতে প্রাচীনকাল থেকে রবাব এর মতো একটি বাদ্যযন্ত্রের প্রচলন ছিল। যেটি রুদ্রবীণা নামে পরিচিত ছিল। মোগল দরবারে সংগীতরত্ন মিয়া তানসেন এই যন্ত্রটি বাজাতেন। তখন থেকে রুদ্রবীণা বাদ্যযন্ত্রটিকে ধ্রুপদী বীনা বা তানসেনী রবাব বলা হত। তবে এই বাদ্য যন্ত্রটির গঠন ও বাজাবার পদ্ধতি আফগানি রবাব থেকে একেবারেই আলাদা।  ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীর তৃতীয় দশকে তানসেন বংশের জাফর খাঁ,  সুর সৃঙ্গার যন্ত্রের উদ্ভাবন করেন। ধ্রুপদী রবাবের কাঠের প্লেটের বদলে ধাতুর প্লেট, চামড়ার জায়গায় কাঠের তবলী ও তাঁতের Read More …

বিষহরি পূজা’ই  প্রকারান্তরে মনসা পূজা। আমাদের দেশে যেখানেই সাপের ভয় বা সাপের উৎপাত বেশি সেখানেই সাপের দেবী রয়েছে। তার পুজো হয়। নানা লোকাচার পালিত হয় সর্দপদেবীকে কেন্দ্র করে। বাংলায় বিশেষ করে দক্ষিন ও দক্ষিন পশ্চিম অঞ্চলে সাপের উৎপাত বেশি। তাই সাপের দেবীর মাহাত্ম নিয়ে লোকাচারও বেশি। এখানে সাপের দেবতা – মনসা ।গ্রামে গ্রামে মনসার থান আছে। সেখানে নিয়মিত মনসার পুজো হয়। আবার বাড়িতেও তুলসী তলার পাশে একটা মনসার ডাল পোঁতা থাকে। সেই মনসার গাছেও মনসা দেবীর অধিষ্ঠান বলে মনে করা হয়। বাংলার বাইরেও সাপের নানা দেবতা আছে। কোথাও নাগরাজ, কোথাও নাগাম্মা। আবার বালনাগাম্মা, মুদামা ও মঞ্চাম্মা ইত্যাদি আরো কতো নাম। দেবীর মাহাত্মনিয়ে অনেক গল কথা মুখেমুখে প্রচলিত। তা নিয়ে কত গল্প , নাটক সিনেমা হয়েছে। এখনো তা মানুষের কাছে অসীম আগ্রহের বিষয়। গ্রামের সার্বজনীন মনসা থানে সমবেত হয়ে যে সমস্ত বার ব্রত ও উপবাস গুলির পালন করা হয় তার মধ্যে জৈষ্ঠ্য মাসের শুক্ল দশমীতে অনুষ্ঠিত বিষহরি মনসা পূজার ব্রত অন্যতম এক মাঙ্গলিক ব্রত রূপে বিবেচিত Read More …

তুলসী প্রদীপ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, বাঁকুড়া, হুগলি জেলার জেলার বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চলে কুলকুলোতি ব্রত ও উৎসব হয়ে থাকে। ‘কুলকুলোতি’ বা ‘কুলকুলতি’  গ্রামীন লোকাচার পূর্ব পুরুষদের উদ্দেশ্যে বা হারিয়ে যাওয়া মানুষদের উদ্দেশ্যে নিবেদিত হয়ে থাকে।আবার কুলের মঙ্গল কামনাতেও এই ব্রত হয়ে থাকে। কার্তিক মাসের প্রথম দিন থেকেই  এই ব্রত বা লোকাচারপালনের রীতি চালু রয়েছে। চলে কার্তিক সংক্রান্তি পর্যন্ত। আশ্বিন মাস জুড়ে দুর্গা পুজো, তার  পরেই লক্ষীপুজো, কালীপুজো চলে। আশ্বিনে লক্ষীর পুজো হয়ে থাকে। লক্ষ্মীর ব্রত হয় পৌষ মাসে।  আশ্বিন মাস পুজোর মাস।  কার্তিক মাসে ‘কুলকুলোতি’, অগ্রহায়ন মাসে নবান্ন, ইতু পুজো, পৌষ মাসে তুসু পুজো আর লক্ষীর ব্রত হয়। বাঙালির ঘরে ব্রত, আর পুজো অবশ্য সবই মিলে মিশে রয়েছে।  কার্তিক, অগ্রহায়ন আর পৌষ এই তিন মাস বাংলার গ্রামাঞ্চল উৎসবমুখর হয়ে থাকে। ছোট-বড় সকলেই প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষভাবে এই উৎসবের সঙ্গে জড়িয়ে পড়ে, যদিও সাধারণভাবে কুমারী ও সধবা মহিলারা এই উৎসবের সঙ্গে প্রত্যক্ষভাবে শামিল হয়। কিন্তু তা’ সামগ্রিকভাবে সাধারণ মানুষদের জীবনযাত্রার সঙ্গে গভীর ভাবে জড়িয়ে  রয়েছে,। কুল প্রতিহত তুলসী তলায় গর্ত Read More …
