The important aspect of this aesthetics is expression.  The expressed form is not always acceptable to the viewer or listener in exactly the same perception with which the artist has created his art.  The viewer also adds some of his own perception. -শ্যামল কুমার মন্ডল -টুসু একটি সর্বজনীন লোকউৎসব। লোকাচার সম্পৃক্ত এই উৎসবে কিছু ধর্মীয় আচার অনুষ্ঠান থাকা সত্ত্বেও এই উৎসব কখনোই ধর্ম-উৎসবে পরিণত হতে পারে নি। সমাজ-সমীক্ষকরা বলে থাকেন, ধর্ম – উৎসবগুলি প্রধানত লোকউৎসবের গর্ভসঞ্জাত। পরবর্তীকালে সেগুলি ধর্মের গন্ডিতে আবদ্ধ হয়েছে। তাসত্বেও কিছু উৎসব আছে যেগুলিকে ধর্মের ছোঁয়া থাকলেও একান্তভাবেই সাধারণ মানুষের হৃদয় বন্ধনে আবদ্ধ। টুসু উৎসব বাংলার রাঢ় অঞ্চলের এমনই একটি লোকউৎসবের উৎকৃষ্ট উদাহরণ। টুসু উৎসব সর্বজনীন, কারণ এই সর্বজনীনতার শিকড় জড়িয়ে আছে মানুষের জীবন সংগ্রামের সাথে। দীর্ঘ তিনমাস ধরে মাথার ঘাম পায়ে ফেলে, প্রকৃতির ভ্রুকুটিকে উপেক্ষা করে যখন সে তার শ্রমের ফসল ঘরে তোলে, সেই চরম সুখের মুহূর্তে তার ঘরে আসে টুসু। সমস্ত ক্লান্তির অবসান ঘটে তার মায়ামাখা সুরের জাদুতে। এই গভীরে আছে শস্য। পরম যত্নে বোনা, চরম সতর্কতায় পরিপাটি ও সবশেষে বিপুল আনন্দে সেই সাফল্যকে ঘরে তোলা সময়ের ক্রম ব্যাপ্তির যোগফলের প্রতীক এই উৎসব। তাই, কোড়া, ভূমিজ, মাহাতো, মুণ্ডা, লোধা, সাঁওতাল সবাই ধর্মের অনুশাসন ভেঙে, আচারের সীমানা লঙ্ঘন করে সাফল্যের অনাবিল আনন্দের অভিব্যক্তি Read More …

কৃষ্ণপদ দাস (ভূমিকা — আধুনিক বাংলা-নাট্যের আলোচনায় অন্যতম ব্যক্তিত্ব শম্ভু মিত্র। অভিনেতা, নাট্যকার, পরিচালক এবং সংগঠকের ভূমিকায় থেকে প্রথম গ্রুপ থিয়েটারের সূত্রপাতের জনক তিনিই। প্রথম গ্রুপ থিয়েটার ‘বহুরূপী’ — যা তৈরীর কৃতিত্ব শম্ভু মিত্রের। গণনাট্য সংঘ থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে মনোরঞ্জন ভট্টাচার্যকে নিয়ে ‘বহুরূপী’ খুব স্বল্প সময়েই বিশেষ উচ্চতায় স্থান করে নিয়েছে রবীন্দ্র-নাট্যের প্রযোজনা দিয়ে — যা পাঁচের দশক থেকে শুরু হয়েছিল। পাঁচের দশকে ‘রক্তকরবী’, ছয়ের দশকে রবীন্দ্র জন্মশতবর্ষে ‘বিসর্জন’ ‘রাজা’ নিয়ে জনপ্রিয়তার শিখরে ওঠে বহুরূপী। বহুরূপীর পাশাপাশি এল নান্দীকার, শৌভনিকের মত নাট্যদল। তবে আমার এই মুহূর্তের উপস্থাপনা শম্ভু মিত্রের মৌলিক নাট্যভাবনা এবং বহুরূপীর নিজস্ব প্রযোজনায় রবীন্দ্র-নাটক।) স্বাধীনতা উত্তর বাংলা নাটকের ক্ষেত্রে যাঁরা অবদান রেখেছেন, তাদের প্রায় সকলেই গণসংস্কৃতির প্রশস্ত রাস্তায় পা মিলিয়েছিলেন । দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পর পৃথিবীর সমাজতান্ত্রিক দেশগুলির অভূতপূর্ব অগ্রগতি লক্ষ করে ভারতের শ্রমজীবী মানুষের । মনেও সমাজ পরিবর্তনের আকাঙ্ক্ষা অঙ্কুরিত হয়। স্বাধীনতা দেশপ্রেম ও মানবমুক্তির । সংজ্ঞায় শ্রেণিসংগ্রামের তত্ত্ব যুক্ত হল । এরই পটভূমিতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত গণনাট্য সংঘের কর্মসূচিতে যে সকল প্রগতিশীল শিল্পী-নাট্যকর্মী এগিয়ে Read More …

Lack of education, economic stability and domination of males in the society are major reasons for which scheduled-caste women are getting harassed in several situations. This article gives a preliminary concept of women empowerment and how proper awareness and empowerment practices can change the situation of scheduled-caste women. Districts like Malda and Coochbehar have highest percentage of SC population which is nearly 50% and 16%. However, government policies such as microfinance programs, educational attainments and awareness campaigns can be beneficial to improve socioeconomic conditions of women and it can improve current situation of scheduled caste women in West Bengal in the upcoming future.
